This is one of my favorite parks in NW Arkansas. It can be found by traveling east on Walnut in Rogers, past the downtown area and continue on to Lake Atalanta Rd. The park is about a mile down. You can't miss it.
With 4 miles of hard surface trails and over 10 miles of soft surface multi-use nature trails, Lake Atalanta is a leisure and recreational hub in Northwest Arkansas. Walk, run, or bike the 2-mile boardwalk paved trail that loops around the lake with beautiful views and nature stops. The stops along the way have signage with information on the different ecosystems and animals that may be spotted from the trail, making it a perfect setting for a family venture.
Biking Trails: Lake Atalanta is also a trailhead with access to Frisco Springs Trail and The Railyard Loop that lead to other trails, The Railyard Bike Park, and a dog park. Plan to park at The Railyard Bike Park or dog park and hike or ride down to Lake Atalanta for an added experience. The trails are beginner to expert skill levels and the park provides amenities for bikers. The bike stations include tools, air pumps, and bike racks.
The Lake Experience: The park features 6 fishing piers around the lake with signage at the entrance of the trail with the rules and regulations. Rowboats, canoes, and kayaks are permitted on the lake but nothing with a motor. Lake Atalanta is well known for the pond, natural springs, meandering small creeks, and a natural splash pad that kids love to play in.
Rental Facilities: Book your next gathering at one of the 5 pavilions. There are 3 restroom facilities, drinking fountains, picnic tables, and benches conveniently scattered throughout the park for smaller gatherings. Enjoy shaded areas, endless open space for kids to run freely, 2 playground areas, and 2 treehouses sitting on stilts not in trees.
Dog Park: The Dog park portion is located off of Pleasant Ridge Rd but can be accessed by a quick walk from the main parking area off Lake Atalanta Rd. Since there is only one park for all dog sizes, we ask that your dog be very well behaved for the safety of all. Dogs are allowed anywhere else in the park as long as they are on a leash.
